Housing affordability
Communities and Local Government (CLG) produce two tables on housing affordability at Local Authority District/Unitary Council level (as at 1st April 1998) upwards in England from 1997 to 2008:
- Table 576: Ratio of lower quartile house price to lower quartile income by district
- Table 577: Ratio of median house price to median income by district
The data are calculated using HM Land Registry average house prices and the lower quartile and median income from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings. The tables are available by selecting the approriate link on the right hand side of the screen.
